In August 2022, we held our very first Baby and Bump Fair at The Academy of Woodlands in Gillingham. The event was full of talks, workshops and activities for new and expectant families.
TV presenter and journalist Kate Quilton shared her insights from the Channel 4 programme Dispatches: Breastfeeding Uncovered. Kate showed some inspirational key moments from the programme, and in addition answered many questions from the audience.
Speakers included Lactation Consultants Emma Pickett who offered advice about getting breastfeeding off to a good start, nursing manners and starting solids. Popular topics from the day included private peer support from the National Childbirth Trust, effective positioning and attachment, hypnobirthing and safe sleep for babies.
Highlights from the day included fun and friendly workshops which included baby yoga and baby massage, breathing and positions for birth, relaxed fitness sessions and breathing for birth.
